Order of Protection
An Order of Protection is a court order that is used to prohibit an abuser from continuing threats and/or harassment. It can also bar an abuser from the household, require abuser to attend counseling, prevent the abuser from hiding a child, or taking him/her out of state.

Katherine Gaughan is an attorney who understands the legal needs of survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. She has experience teaching as an Adjunct Professor at the John Marshall Law School’s Family Law and Domestic Violence Clinic. She previously worked as a Staff Attorney at the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation. Katherine completed a 40-hour training to become a sexual assault advocate for a rape crisis hotline.
